This is done through conversation. You will have to spend some time reading and providing feedback. Your content must be interesting, engaging and of value to keep them interested. This can be done through photos, videos, messages, announcements and more.
Facebook has a tool called Insights which lets you see the type of content your fans enjoy interacting with.
